TOKYO -- Japan will cut the processing time for foreign information technology engineers as regards obtaining residency starting this autumn, Nikkei has learned.
If seeking employment within National Strategic Special Zones, applicants could receive residency status in as little as a month, a process that currently can take up to three months. Local governments will check host companies in advance to expedite the process.
