REITs could lose out as China reopening hopes fade and interest rates bite

SINGAPORE/HONG KONG -- Hopes for a rebound in Asia's commercial property market have taken a hit this year, as higher interest rates and financial market turmoil keep a lid on activity in the sector. 

The chill has spread to both commercial properties and listed real estate investment trusts, which own income-producing offices and malls and feature prominently on the stock markets of Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong.
