CHIANG MAI -- Myanmar journalists in exile, especially those in Thailand, are vowing to continue their work despite significant salary cuts and the looming prospect of going completely without pay now that U.S. President Donald Trump has frozen most foreign aid.

Journalists working for several Myanmar publications such CJ Platform, Mizzima and Narinjara News are among those affected. The media outlets continue to cover the Southeast Asian country's ongoing civil war and the devastation left by a strong earthquake two weeks ago that killed more than 3,600 people.
