Japanese journalist detained in Myanmar: media

YANGON (Kyodo) --  A Japanese freelance journalist was detained by security forces in Myanmar's largest city Yangon on Sunday, local media reported.

Yuki Kitazumi a former reporter for the Tokyo-based Nikkei business daily who now lives in Yangon, was carried away by a police vehicle near his house on Sunday night. The Japanese Embassy in Yangon is trying to confirm the report.

The 45-year-old journalist was also briefly detained by security forces while covering an anti-coup protest there on Feb. 26.
