BANGKOK/YANGON -- Myanmar will begin allowing international passenger flights as early as January 2022, Myanmar's Ministry of Information said Tuesday.

The country has banned the landing of international flights -- with the exception of those delivering aid and cargo flights -- since late March 2020, after the COVID-19 pandemic spread in the neighboring country.
