BANGKOK/YANGON -- The head of Myanmar's military government met with the leaders of nearby countries including Thailand and Cambodia during a trip to China, underscoring efforts by the Southeast Asian nation to strengthen ties with its neighbors.

Senior Gen. Min Aung Hlaing returned home from his first trip to China since his forces took over Myanmar in February 2021.
