YANGON/BANGKOK -- As Myanmar's widening civil war sends many residents of rural regions fleeing to Yangon, housing prices are rising in the country's largest city.

"Will you consider terminating the lease and leaving this place?" an Indian businessman was asked recently by the landlord of his rented unit at the StarCity luxury complex in a Yangon suburb.
