SEOUL -- North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is pledging to address food insecurity in his country, calling for measures to boost agricultural production nationwide at a plenary session of the ruling party this week.

It is "important to concentrate on increasing the yield at all the farms," Kim told the Workers' Party of Korea. He called it necessary for "each sector and unit to give mental and moral, material and technical support and assistance to the rural communities."
