SEOUL -- South Korea's president ordered officials on Thursday to share information on a failed North Korean satellite launch with Japan and the U.S., acting on a recent agreement reached at a summit between the three countries.

North Korea's state media reported the unsuccessful launch early on Thursday morning. The agency said a problem occurred in the rocket's third stage, adding that the country's space agency will try again in October.
