N Korea at crossroads

Two Koreas agree to modernize North Korean railways

Seoul's Eurasian railroad dream comes one step closer

SEOUL -- North and South Korea agreed Tuesday to modernize the North's two coastal rail links by first embarking on a study, as part of a larger project to connect the tracks to the network in the South.

The project will also go some way toward helping Seoul to realize its longtime dream of establishing a logistics network to link up with Europe on the Trans-Siberian Railway.
