Nikkei recognizes outstanding contributions to improving life in the region

TOKYO -- The founder of one of Southeast Asia's most valuable startups, a shrimp farming pioneer and an organization fostering Philippine cinema have been selected for this year's Nikkei Asia Prizes.

The awards honor individuals and groups that have contributed to Asia's prosperity and quality of life. They will be handed out on May 29 in Tokyo.
