TOKYO -- Police in Tokyo have sent the case of former Olympus CEO Stefan Kaufmann to the Public Prosecutors Office on suspicion that he took possession of illegal drugs, a source close to the investigation confirmed on Tuesday.
Kaufmann, who is not under arrest, allegedly received cocaine and MDMA, which are stimulants known to boost mood, from a drug dealer several times between September 2022 and February 2024.
