Singapore fertility rate hits new low, putting focus on housing prices

SINGAPORE -- Singapore's total fertility rate fell to a record low of 1.05 in 2022 as women continued to have fewer children despite government efforts to promote families.

The latest figure, announced Friday, is lower than Singapore's previous low of 1.1 set in 2020 and lower than Japan's 2021 level.
