KOBE, Japan -- Japanese sporting goods brand ASICS will stop selling baseball gloves and bats in September 2025 as part of a shift to high-end running shoes and other products with strong international demand.

The Kobe-based company, which has supplied gear to such Major League Baseball big hitters as Ichiro Suzuki and Shohei Ohtani, started selling baseball cleats in 1973.
