NEW YORK -- Los Angeles Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani on Tuesday night earned his 10th win as a pitcher this season, becoming the first player to reach double-digit wins and hit at least 10 home runs in a Major League Baseball season since Babe Ruth accomplished the feat back in 1918.

Besides starting on the mound against the Oakland Athletics, Ohtani batted second in the order. With a four-run lead in the seventh inning, he hit a solo home run, his 25th this season, bringing his MLB total to 118 homers, surpassing Ichiro Suzuki and moving into second place on the all-time list of Japanese MLB home run leaders. Hideki Matsui, who played for the New York Yankees and other teams, homered 175 times in the majors.
