TOKYO -- Even as tensions between the U.S. and China have mounted to levels that few would have imagined at the last Winter Olympics four years ago, the Chinese diaspora is well represented in Team USA at the Beijing Games.
This is especially true of the figure skating contingent, which earned a team silver medal Monday. A member of that team, Vincent Zhou, said Monday night he will withdraw from the individual event after testing positive for COVID-19. He also missed the medal ceremony for the team competition.
