TOKYO -- Peer Naubert is eager to discuss the growing relationship between Germany's top professional soccer league and Japan, which since the early 1960s has sought to emulate the German model at the amateur and professional levels.

Just don't ask Bundesliga International's chief marketing officer about the Samurai Blue's famous 2-1 win over Die Mannschaft, as the German team is known, at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, with both of Japan's goals coming from Germany-based players.
