SEOUL -- When 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his way to the crease at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, there was no sense in the crowd that one of the greatest moments in recent Indian sporting history was about to unfold.

The teenager was called up as a late substitute for the Rajasthan Royals in its Indian Premier League (IPL) game against the Gujarat Titans on April 28. It was only his third game in the lucrative cricket league.
