NEW YORK -- Jackie Robinson made history when he became the first Black player in modern Major League Baseball history in 1947. But a new museum honoring the Brooklyn Dodgers legend shows how he sought to break down racial barriers beyond the baseball field.
The Jackie Robinson Museum opened to the public in New York on Monday. In addition to baseball equipment, photos and other memorabilia relating to the star infielder, it showcases Robinson's legacy as a civil rights activist.
