TOKYO -- Shohei Ohtani's first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers ended on a high as he helped the Major League Baseball team secure its eighth World Series title while drawing the organization a wide range of new sponsorships from Japanese companies.
Ohtani, the two-way Japanese superstar who joined the team from the Los Angeles Angels, put aside his pitching for the season as he recovered from elbow surgery and focused on batting as a designated hitter, compiling his best offensive season in the U.S.
