RAYONG, Thailand -- Chinese auto parts manufacturers in Thailand have grown threefold with the arrival of BYD and other car companies, turning the Southeast Asian nation into a base that could be used to supply other Asian markets.
In Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), located about two hours by car from Bangkok, new factories are going up along the main road.
