TAIPEI -- HP has sharply curtailed its Taiwan team's role in procurement decisions and added related positions in Singapore as part of a major supply chain reshuffle aimed at minimizing geopolitical risks, sources familiar with the matter told Nikkei Asia.

The top American computer maker transferred responsibility for procurement decisions to newly hired U.S.-based executive Jonathan Jennings, the sources said.
