NEW YORK -- A Chinese national has sued Milwaukee Tool for allegedly being forced to produce work gloves for a supplier of the American power tool company, in what appears to be the first case of its kind in the U.S.

The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court in Milwaukee on June 27 and claims Milwaukee Tool and its parent company, Techtronic Industries, knew, or should have known, its gloves were made with forced labor, a violation of the U.S. Trafficking Victim Protection Act.
