TOKYO -- Japanese manufacturer Mitsubishi Electric plans to revamp the supply chain for its factory robot operation in China, collaborating more closely with local firms to increase procurement as U.S. President Donald Trump looks to advance protectionist policy.

Mitsubishi Electric is considering partnerships with Chinese companies, including investments, Chief Financial Officer Kuniaki Masuda told Nikkei. The plan is to conclude such deals by the fiscal year ending March 2026.
