TOKYO -- Japanese property group Mitsubishi Estate plans to spend 500 billion yen ($3.3 billion) over the next decade developing logistics facilities, Nikkei has learned, seeking to build warehouses that can store automobile batteries or accommodate self-driving trucks.
The investment would be 3.5 times the amount spent over the previous 10 years. A portion of the funds will go toward building specialized facilities that house EV batteries, which are considered a fire hazard not suitable to be held in conventional warehouses.
