HO CHI MINH CITY -- Robots and roadways are giving logistics an upgrade in Vietnam, where manufacturers are expanding supply chains and e-commerce -- notably brands Shopee and Shein -- is taking off.

Viettel Post recently showed off delivery drones and sorting robots that it said are helping to raise its processing capacity by 40%. Citing the example of smart border gates, the military-owned courier plans to invest in infrastructure, something the government plans to improve overall for a country that has one of the worst-scoring logistics sectors in the region.
