SINGAPORE -- Singapore is becoming more involved in developing Vietnam's economy as global supply chain shifts make Southeast Asia a hot spot for industrial activity, with the two countries agreeing to increase cooperation during a high-level bilateral exchange on Wednesday.

Sembcorp Industries, partially-owned by Singapore's state investor Temasek, announced it will engage Vietnam's Becamex IDC in a joint venture to develop two new industrial parks in the communist state via a subsidiary.
