PENANG, Malaysia -- Taiwan's Passive System Alliance has kicked off production at its new printed circuit board plant in Malaysia, as the electronic parts maker looks to tap booming demand for artificial intelligence servers and automotive components.

The opening of the plant, which doubles the company's capacity for PCB in Malaysia, comes amid a global push in the tech industry to diversify supply chains.
