TOKYO -- The head of Samsung Electronics' network business said on Friday that software capabilities will change the telecommunications landscape, as the South Korean tech giant bets on virtualized services.

Kim Woojune said that future networks will be transformed more into software-centric architecture, versus the hardware-based networks the world has built and relied upon for about 150 years.
