Taiwan believes its chip sector and American companies are in a win-win relationship.

TAIPEI (Reuters) -- Taiwan has sent officials to Washington to discuss possible U.S. tariffs by President Donald Trump and has made preparations should they be imposed, Economy Minister Kuo Jyh-huei said on Saturday.

Tech firms in Taiwan, home toTSMC, the world's largest contract chipmaker, face the possibility Trump will follow through on threats to put tariffs on imported chips after he accused Taiwan during last year's campaign of having stolen America's semiconductor business.
