WASHINGTON -- The U.S. will replace Russia as India's biggest oil supplier under a deal reached Thursday between President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi while they also agreed for New Delhi to purchase the F-35 fighter in the future.

The world's largest economy and the most populous country will work together to bring "greater fairness and reciprocity" to the trading relationship, Trump told reporters in a joint news conference after the meeting.
