NEW YORK/WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday that trade with China does not have to be "phenomenal," only "fair," and that he always had a "great" relationship with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Speaking by video link to the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, Trump said the U.S. trade deficit with China was "out of hand" and in need of rebalancing when asked about the topic in a Q&A session.
