TOKYO -- Japanese workers who changed jobs in the April-June quarter secured an average pay of 4.66 million yen ($32,000) for their first year, up 1.8% on the year, staffing agency Mynavi reports, as businesses shell out more money for experienced talent ready to hit the ground running.
Average pay for midcareer hires has risen every year since Mynavi began tracking the data in 2019, and it grew 0.5% in 2023 to 4.57 million yen.
