TOKYO -- Japan is trying to address nursing care issues, which are a growing challenge for the country's aging population. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare will soon require companies to inform eligible employees about benefit programs, including nursing care leave.
The government intends to cut the number of employees leaving the workforce to care for family members from about 100,000 a year at present to zero over the long term.
