SEOUL -- Employees at four Samsung Group companies have formed a union with roughly 15,800 members in a move aligning with the conglomerate's newfound embrace of negotiations between management and labor.

The new labor union is a consolidation of unionized workers from Samsung Electronics' smartphone and consumer electronics division, Samsung Display, Samsung Biologics and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance.
