TOKYO -- Japanese companies are in jeopardy of losing skilled information technology workers from Vietnam on which they rely, as more young professionals from the country look to the U.S. and its higher salaries, while Japan has few options to fill the gap.

A job fair in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi during May drew many Japanese companies looking to recruit new graduates from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the country's top science school.
