Joint research by Honda Motor and IBM aims to improve chips' capabilities and cut their power consumption to meet the needs of future vehicles whose basic functions will depend on software.

TOKYO -- Honda Motor and IBM said on Wednesday that they have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on long-term research and development for next-generation computing technologies such as chips and software for future vehicles.
