TOKYO -- The takeover battle for a Japanese company with world-beating sensor technology may be on the verge of escalating as Yageo, a Taiwanese electronic components maker, intends to sharply increase its offer price for Shibaura Electronics, countering a white knight bid from Japanese parts supplier MinebeaMitsumi, Nikkei has learned.
