SHIZUOKA, Japan -- An investment fund managed by U.S. firm Taiyo Pacific Partners announced on Wednesday that it will launch a tender offer for Japanese automatic lathe maker Star Micronics, planning to invest 70 billion yen ($452 million) to acquire full ownership of the company.
