Amazon has expanded into 16 countries around the world, with Japan its first Asian market in 2007, followed by rollouts in China, India and Singapore.

TOKYO -- U.S. e-commerce group Amazon.com raised the subscription fee for its Prime service in Japan for the first time in April, at the same time as it moves to shut its e-commerce marketplace in China.
