NEW YORK/TOKYO -- Nippon Steel subsidiary U.S. Steel will restart one of two idled blast furnaces at a steelworks in Illinois, as the facility -- which was previously slated for shutdown until the U.S. government blocked the plan -- gets a new lease on life attributed to growing demand.
