Nintendo net profit shrinks 42% in April-December

President says it will 'prepare sufficient quantities' for Switch 2 before launch

TOKYO -- Nintendo on Tuesday posted a net profit of 237.1 billion yen ($1.5 billion) for the nine months to December, down 41.9% from a year earlier. The results follow the gaming giant's recent announcement that it will launch its next console, the Nintendo Switch 2, this year.
