Japanese department stores have high expectations for spending by a potential influx of Chinese visitors after the COVID testing requirement is lifted.

TOKYO -- Japanese retailers are preparing for a full return of Chinese tourists, increasing duty-free locations and hiring multilingual staff, as Japan is set to relax border measures for people travelling from China on Wednesday.
