Beijing probes leaders of China's semiconductor industry drive

TAIPEI/NEW YORK -- At least three leading figures linked with China's effort to develop a domestic chip industry including the country's minister of industry and information technology have been placed under investigation, Chinese government announcements and local media reports show.
