TOKYO -- Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will require chip manufacturing plants to adopt protections against cyberattacks as a condition for receiving subsidies starting in fiscal 2026, Nikkei has learned, an effort to reduce supply chain risks that could affect a wide range of industries.
