KUMAMOTO, Japan -- Efforts are underway to ensure water safety in Japan's Kumamoto prefecture, home to a burgeoning chip hub centering on new and planned Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. fabrication facilities, as officials hope to ease residents' fears and secure the expected economic impact of 13.4 trillion yen ($88 billion).
