TAIPEI/TOKYO -- With the global shortage of semiconductors becoming ever more serious, Taiwanese Economic Minister Wang Mei-hua held an unusual meeting with executives from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. on Jan. 24 to relay a plea from numerous foreign governments.
