TOKYO -- Japanese conglomerate Hitachi and U.S. artificial intelligence developer OpenAI signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday for a strategic partnership to build AI infrastructure and expand data centers globally. The aim is to accelerate generative AI development while reducing energy consumption costs.
