CHIBA, Japan -- Japanese custom homebuilder Cleverly Home is set to rent out model homes as private lodgings when no viewing appointments by potential buyers are booked. The company, based in Chiba prefecture, next to Tokyo, intends to monetize these empty houses by hosting foreign tourists and young Japanese not yet interested in buying a house.
