KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysia's gross domestic product expanded 5% in the first quarter of 2022 compared with the same period last year, its central bank announced on Friday, as the Southeast Asian economy continued to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic which had led to the closure of countless businesses and pushed up joblessness.
